ABOUT BILL:
I moved to the Northern Territory in late 1991 and have resided in Alice Springs since.
I have two children, aged 18 and 22 who were born and raised in Alice Springs and both now work in local businesses.
My current position is the General Manager of the Alice Springs Correctional Centre where I have dedicated 6 and a half years to this role. I am responsible for budgets in excess of $45 million across two sites, and also have responsibility for up to 725 offenders and 275 staff members.
Prior to joining the NT Public Sector in 2002, I managed two of the largest fleet operations within the tourism industry, these being AAT Kings and Adventure Tours Australia. In addition I was foreman, then manager, of a local business conducting mechanical and refrigeration repairs, both locally and into remote areas of SA and the NT.

I have held positions on general and executive committees since 1995 of the Alice Springs Motorcycle Club, Alice Springs Sporting Car Association, Finke Desert Race Committee and the Alice Springs Offroad Race Club. Of note I maintained a position as a senior Confederation of Australia Motorsport Official from 1997 to 2011 and was the recipient of the 2000 SA/NT Motorsport Official of the Year.
Most recently I became a Community Consultative Representative for the YMCA of Alice Springs in early 2017 and continued on to become an Executive Member of the YMCA NT Board, representing Central Australia in late 2017.
My key strengths include strategic leadership, strategic development, change management, communication and negotiation, public speaking, business development, adaptability and resilience.
