CLP IS THE ONLY CHOICE IN JOHNSTON: VOTE 1 - JOSH THOMAS
CLP the only choice in Johnston
Sunday Feb 16th 2020
The Country Liberal Party will not be doing a preference deal in the Johnston By-Election.
Party President Ron Kelly said, Territorians need certainty and accountability and we believe having a strong Opposition delivers,
which is why Josh Thomas is the best choice.
The voters of Johnston can send the Gunner Labor Government a message that they aren’t happy on the state of the economy,
that they aren’t happy at the level of crime and that they aren’t happy at the spending priorities of the government.
By putting Josh Thomas from the CLP first, they know that they are choosing a candidate from a political party not prepared to
compromise its principles for a few preferences.
Mr Kelly made his position very clear in contrast to the approach taken by Territory Alliance.
We are not prepared to say and do anything to gain power”, the CLP will not compromise on its well-known policy positions for a
few pieces of silver which in this case are preferences
We want the voters of Johnston to put Josh Thomas first and to make it easy voters can number down the ballot paper or choose
to allocate their own preferences.
Mr Kelly said it was important that Territorians see Territory Alliance for what they are, unprincipled vote grabbers.
The CLP approached Territory Alliance about preferences but like the rest of you we learned through the media of his deal with
the Greens who are anti everything the Territory needs right now. Those discussions never went anywhere and now we know
why.
Those Conservatives and key Industries who were thinking of supporting Terry Mills must be wondering what parts of the Territory
economy has he sold out to gain these preferences.
If you do a deal with the devil like Terry Mills has done with the Greens then every Conservative thinker should rightly question
why they would vote for him and why they vote for a party that aligns itself with a far left organisation prepared to sell out everyday
Territorians for an ideology designed to make their life worse not better.
Labor should also now remove all their incorrect social media memes linking Terry Mills and the CLP because now a vote for
Terry Mills is a vote for the Greens.
Mr Kelly said that the people of Johnston have an important choice to make for the future of the Territory “Labor will learn nothing
if they are not sent a strong message with the election of the CLP’s Josh Thomas.
Territory Alliance will say and do anything to win and that is not leadership.
Only the CLP understand that small and medium business are the lifeblood of our economy and that in order to have a strong
economy we must restore law and order.

February Candidate Announcement
The Country Liberal Party has today endorsed another nine candidates for the 2020 Territory general election.
CLP President Ron Kelly said the calibre of candidates was again outstanding, with quality, passionate people putting their hands up for the job.
“This is a really exciting day, and a day I know many Territorians have been looking forward to,” he said.
“Territorians can have faith that this new look and feel CLP team are the real alternative at the ballot in August.

Mr Kelly said the count down was well and truly on.
