Home Improvement Scheme figures released this week that show only 40 of the more than 2400 works applications in Alice Springs have been approved, shows just how poorly the Gunner Government thinks of the town.
"It's almost a comedy act here. But it's just so sad that Alice Springs is being left outside of the Labor's Party's bubble again," CLP candidate for Araluen Damien Ryan said.
"We live inside the Territory's borders in Alice Springs, but we certainly aren't being treated as Territorians by the Gunner Government," Braitling CLP candidate Josh Burgoyne said.
While well intended the Home Improvement Scheme is unfortunately causing tradies to lose work, because potential customers are waiting for works to be approved under the Scheme. And the process is agonisingly slow, frustrating tradies and homeowners.
"Having to wait until September or October for approval of works is not good enough for tradies or homeowners. The fact that only 40 applications in Alice have been approved is a joke," CLP Namatjira candidate Bill Yan said.
