Candidate for Fong Lim
My family moved to the Northern Territory in 1988 when my father John was given the opportunity to manage the Gold Room at the Granites Gold Mine, located 640km from Alice Springs.
Prior to settling in Darwin, I spent 30 years helping run my family business and raising my three children in Alice Springs. I have always been actively involved in my community through organisations such as the Alice Springs Masters Games. I have served as a Councillor and the Deputy Mayor of the Alice Springs Town Council, Commissioner of the Board of Tourism NT and a member of the Victims of Crime Board NT.
I hear time and time again when I am out doorknocking that crime and the economy are the big issues. We must get this under control with practical community-led solutions. We all want to feel safe in our homes. Local businesses and Territorian’s entrepreneurial spirit have always been the backbone of our Territory economy and we must provide the opportunities to prosper again. We must create and secure local jobs.
I believe we need politicians from all walks of life with a whole range of skills and experience, from small business, trade and industry and Government. That is why I’m running for the Country Liberal Party in Fong Lim. I will use the experience l have from being a small business owner, volunteer and Territorian.
Together with CLP leader Lia Finocchiaro, we can grow the Territory again
