My family and I have made our home in Palmerston, I’ve raised my children here and they both attended local schools. We’re invested, it is my community! I absolutely get why my children have chosen to raise my grandchildren here! A former small business owner, I changed career direction to work in the community sector, my passion is helping the disadvantaged. I started in aged care before moving on to NGO’s working with family’s and youth homelessness, helping voices to be heard and supporting those in need. Doing this by using a strength-based approach coupled with a solution focus enabled me to provide support and assist people to rise to be all they can be, walking along side with strong cultural awareness and respect. The current crime and economic downturn is evident to all, local small businesses are closing, as someone who has owned and then had to leave a successful small business, I understand how crushing it is to lose something you have invested so much time and passion into. I believe that having a safe, secure and stable home is the key to any successful family and critical to tackling youth crime, having a sound knowledge from the coal face gives me a unique insight to the challenges that all demographics face. Jobs, economic growth and financial security are what the Drysdale community is concerned about. Crime is on everyone’s mind, we all have a right to NOT have our homes broken into, our belongings stolen or our safety put at risk, these challenges are what residents in Drysdale are facing every day. I will be out every day talking to you and asking what’s important to you, I believe it takes a community to make change, we all can make a difference with your help that’s exactly what we will do, that is why I am proud to be part of a new Country Liberal Party team led Lia Finocchario MLA. Together we can get the Territory growing again!
